about the Association
Hungarian Bluegrass Music Association
The Hungarian Bluegrass Music Association (Bluegrass Zenei Egyesület) was founded in 2001 at Baja, Hungary. The aim of the small number of founding members was to popularize bluegrass music in Hungary by being realized that collecting the musicians and bands into one group helped reaching the goals of the bluegrass movement, the music that our country had to make up arrears compared to Europe and the rest of world.
The milestone in the life of the association was the 1st Hungarian Bluegrass Meeting that, by collecting more members based on the above, increased the number of members significantly. With this the "nationwide scope" of the constitution gained meaning. With this meeting the foundation-stones of a tradition have been set that already had past in numerous European countries.
